Default oil filter adapter/ oil filter question

I had a question but didnt want to start the whole oil filter thing all over, I have not read the entire threads on the filters because they are pretty long and I have been real busy working and no computer time. I have a stock 454, 2-peice rear seal block, its .30 over with 781 heads, mild cam. I got this block with no oil filter adapter, so now im going to put one on (mr.gasket #1272) i have never blocked the by-pass and im not going to now, ( this is not a race motor at all) so the question is they had 2 different adapters at the machine shop, one had a gasket , and one did not, I got the one that had the gasket, anyways when i went to get the filter for the motor, the guy sold me a wix#51061 and this filter does not have the anti drain back valve in it, Im just wondering if I need a better filter, i did not get the fram just because of all the negative stuff I have read on here about fram, but is this wix any better? what would you guys recommend for a filter? its stock 454, mild cam, and the by-pass is not blocked, any help is appreciated thanks...

The Wix is a very good filter, and you don't need the anti drain back valve. It really useful if the filter is mounted on its side or upside down.
