I used them in my 383 sbc, well made from what I can tell not that I'm an expert but I have put many engines together, I mic'd all of them and they were right on the money, lightweight (at least for my application), and as you said reasonably priced. Haven't had any issues, but they've only been in my boat a season and I haven't had need to take it that far apart to check anything out.

I ran the Hypereutetic ones in a decent 383 SBC bracket engine a while back. I was totally impressed with them. The domes were to big so I machined them down. Machined like a forged piston. Wouldn't use them in a real high end deal, but a modest HP lake boat, not a bad choice.

I have some like new TRW pistons for a .30 454 stock length rod if you plan on running a little compression.

KB has 2 forged pistons FHR's which stands for "forged head relief" and is a basic minimal machined piston like TRW replacement piston , and their Premium Forged which is a much nicer piece

    knock yourself out http://kb-silvolite.com/forged.php?action=diam
example http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku if you shop you can find them a little cheaper. I'am not a big fan of summit, just knew they carried them htis is the cheaper replacement forged piston, don't know much about these, but the price is right http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku

im running a set of Kieth Black premium forged pistons in my engine . think it was around 550 for a set but when i was building my engine at .070 over there was very few places to choose from that had anything in stock .. im also running at 13-1 cr .. so far they been a great set of pistons . more like my entire engine has been Flawless over the past 2 years cept a Rocker arm siezing up which nothing happen to the motor when that happen.

These pistons are a dedicated forging, a better alloy and IMO a better piston than a JE/SRP. Less expensive, too.

X2 and they have a shorter, thicker (stronger) pin , and accum. groove below the top ring, etc etc.
