    Default bearing cleance question

N/A with the no2 every now and then at about 7200 rpm with synthetic 15/40 oil. What would be optimum clearances...main and rod???

Engine size, crank manufacture, stroke, and block manufacture?

rods measure in at .0025 to .0027 with a side clearance of .024-.025

    Mains .0028-.0030

Good to go, or add just a little more?

I have never flirted with the 7k rpm range, so im just double checking.

I like to see at least .003 on both rods and mains in that application

If you are sure of those numbers, and the align bore is straight, I'd be tempted to leave them.

I wouldn't run any more than what you have. I'd probably shoot for .0023-.0024 rods, .0025-.0026 mains and run a 10w oil.

If everything is straight, round, and measured with something somewhat accurate... run it.

You'd be surprised at what you can get away with when all the machine work is correct and done right...and what you can't get away with when it isn't.

Btw... what are you using to measure to arrive at these clearances?
