Jon I really don't know what was causing it. But we were having issues with them.

Seems the o-rings were dried out. We replaced two of them but I think the rest need replacing. The float levels seemed to be inconsistent from run to run. One reasons I didn't feel comfortable going after the jetting on the dyno. I think it could take another degree of timing as well.
The engine came off the dyno with a safe tune and healthy. It needs a little fine tuning but that'll be done with the actual ignition, fuel system, regulator, pump, in the boat, heat of the day, etc. We'll probably get in a river trip before the first race and we'll do the jetting then.

What's a normal fuel range on a dyno ?? Just wondering how far off I was. The plugs really didn't look that bad.

your Brake Specifics look within range. Your peak trq BSFC looks fine for as rich as the left bank was running. Mid .4's are good, low .4's are exceptional.

A/F's in the mid 12's to 13 is a good starting point. Every engine is different some like more some like less....
