there is a little button in the lower right of the forum called "archive". you have probably never paid much attention to it. if you hit this button it gives you a simplified view of vbullitin forum layout. you can scroll through the threads, find the one(s) you want, highlight and simply copy and paste all the info into Word or whatever program you use and save to your hard drive. it is an easy way to save the data you want.

do it soon if you want anything. i'm a guessin it wont be back.

If you are viewing the archive list, right click on the thread and it will give you the entire thing in HTML.

I say we all go there, find our fav thread and post it here. All of them in one spot

    I'll go first.

One of the classic HP vs Torque discussions.

Time Out ... OK I need to figure out how to convert HTML into a PDF. Copy and paste will make the post huge and all of the smilies etc won't allow just a copy and paste

You can usually edit all that stuff out with find and replace. Can you even post a pdf on the forum? Most the pics over there are dead anyway cause they were linked to the image center which is now gone (including smilies). I was just thinking copying as raw text and editing with find and replace in Word. Forum doesn't recognize html in posts anyway, its bb code (html is off).

Yea the only file format recognized by the attachmant manager other than an image file is PDF

I've searched the web in the past and came acorss something that was in a forum archive. Yea it only shows the text associated with a smilie or pic but sometimes you get what you get. I was'nt going to spend the time to find and replace anything. Did'nt want to spend the rest of my life making something easy on the eyes.

I have probably saved about 50 myself. Everyone should save what they think is valuable to themselves. Lord knows not everyone has the time to search through every forum/thread so when I get burned out finding ones for myself I will send an email to myself with all of the files I have saved and then I can just forward them to whomever wants what I saved. Doing this if everyone did the same thing I bet the whole darn thing could be saved.

What I did was take the title of the threads and made it shorter but relevent to the title. In actuality, I should have saved it using the exact name of the thread but its too late to go back and change them now.

I was trying to find the post Chris did about designing a cam. I remember it was very intricate and in depth. I tried looking for it, but after spending twenty minutes looking and needing to run off I gave up.
