Here is some info that I found...................

"There are three different types of marine 7.4L 454 cid engines. Some of the engines are interchangeable with only a few changes. NEW long block engines are available only for 1987 and up big block engines. If you are replacing a pre-1987 engine and you are looking for a direct replacement you will need to purchase a remanufactured long block"

    or

    392 Hp @5000 Rpm / 447 Lb-ft @ 4,000 Rpm
This longblock comes with complete with cast aluminum valve covers, an 8 quart oil pan, composite timing cover, and harmonic balancer. However it does not include the intake manifold, water pump, or flywheel.

I dont know for sure if its a MAG motor or not. Thats what Im trying to figure out.....

Just for reference, if it was a Mercruiser 454 Mag. it was 8.6:1 comp and 385 hp. in the configuration from them. IE: MPI intake, their exhaust and tuning, etc.

There where two rollers used for Gen VI's . Depends on which 454 you got. Take a look here http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selec....asp?type_id=8 to look up engine and then click on 'cylinder block and camshaft' and get part #.

Then use that part # to look at the following info from my notes:

    Merc Std BB Roller
    Merc# 431-850453T / GM#12552296
    .004” 280,299
    .006” 266*/284*
    .050” 204*/209*
    .200” 113*/114*
    Lift .480”/. 483”
    ICL 115.5*
    ECL 120.5
    LSA 118*

    ………………
    Merc Mag Roller
    Merc# 431-850478 / GM#12551622
    .004 300*/ 300*
    .006 288*/288*
    .050” 225*/225*
    .200” 125*/125*
