    Lightbulb Question??? Twin Blower Setups?????

I was looking at a t-bucket today online and it had twin 6-71 blowers. Does anyone know how this works? Does the amount of boost double? For instance, if you had twin 6-71 blowers and they produced 5lbs of boost. With both the blowers the same, does the boost get multiplied by 2( together makes 10lbs of boost)?

I see that Whipple makes a twin 3.3 setup. Does the combined boost numbers equal one total boost number?

example. two blowers producing 6.5lbs of boost on one motor.
    (6.5lbs) x (6.5lbs) = 13lbs of total boost

    Does that sound right???

What about twin turbos? Does this apply to them as well? If not how does the twin turbo setup work? Id there a special mathematical formula to figure the boost?

Any info is always greatly appreciated

What your talking about is compound supercharging, or turbo supercharging.(not sure if one blower was feeding another or not?) A number of aircraft during WWII used this concept. This system is still used on large diesel engines today, where one pressurises another. Twin turbos on the other hand are different. The do not pressurize each other, they simply pressurize the intake system. Now if two 671s were used, they would work if they were mounted beside each other like the Whipple quadrotor. If one was mounted on top of the other, I don't think it would work all that well.

I remember looking at a jet boat for sale 25 years ago at a dealer showroom.
It had two turbos on it. Probably an old gale banks setup.
I asked "how much boost does it make" ?

The salesman said "the turbos put out 6# each so thats 12# total"
    I left immediately.

No what he is talking about is two blowers not charger the other, they have independent draw but combineboost at the intake

More show than go. Not like there wouldn't be boost there, but way more heat and not near as efficient as a real set up with less "flash"
