Hey Jetaholic, here is your info on the Zinc stabilizer. Check it out this stuff. I use it in all my boat motors and its a killer product

    • Add one bottle with every oil change to increase the zinc content of your motor oil.

Why not just use Brad Penn oil?

I have no idea how much the Penn oil costs but if you use the Off-Road use only Valvoline Racing it has almost twice what conventinal oil has. Where do you get that Penn oil ?

I get mine from up in Washington. I don't know where your closest dealer would be.

Brad Penn is the original 'green' Kendal formula from years ago...has a higher zinc level vs Valvoline VR1

Hammer I was not talking about VR1, I was talking about the non street legal off-road use only Valvoline Racing. I do like the old Kendal it was very good oil.

Just kiss flat tappet cams good by! Finding and affording products to appropriately lubricate them will be next to impossible.

We lost two lobes last month on break-in on the dyno with everything, including the kitchen zinc protecting that cam for break-in. We're done!
Due to the EPA requirements, it's rollers only from here on out.

    Thanks Feds for nothing!

I get the feeling that one day we will cause the human race to go extinct in the preservation of animals we'll never actually see and ecologic circumstances nobody can even agree on.

The Valvoline VR1 Racing is what I was refering to...that is their "off-road" oil correct?
And yep, the Brad Penn has a few more hundred PPM of Zinc. (looking for my fact sheet)
    edit...
    VR1 Racing...1300 ppm zinc/ 1200 ppm phosphorus
Brad Penn...1500 ppm zinc/1400 ppm phosphorus

No, you can only buy the "real" Valvoline Racing at Napa Auto Parts. It is NOT the VR1 but the old style "not for street use" racing oil. It is about $1.25 more per quart than the VR1, but well worth the extra $$.
