    Default Puke tank

At what rpm do you add a puke tank ? Im thinking about adding one to my ride , but if its not needed why spend the money. Im sure i will top out at 5500 rpm's and thats probably stabbing it here and there.

454 "B" cut impellor, very mild build.

i bought new v/c and am deciding on just breathers or all out puke tank set up besides it will make my boat look faster

Any input on helping me decide would be great........

2 big breathers will work just fine. On long runs if the oil temp gets hot you will get more blow by and get some oil residue on top of the covers. A puke tank will eliminate all that. I built one out of a vw sand rail set up, only about a quart large and put a breather on top of it, works great, never really have to drain it but it looks cool and does the job. If you look close at this pic you can see it......

Put a pan-vac deal on it. It will pull a little vacuum out of the crankcase and the little oil that does go out will be turned to smoke and sent away from the boat and the engine.
Clean, cheap and easy. - just the way we like em -

Do you think a pan-van would have enough draw to work on a set of zoomies?

This is what I was thinking, but any issues if he has wet headers. Never used a pan-evac with wet headers...

Also if you want the option of running muffler inserts pan vac systems are in the way, they have to stick down into the header to draw. Build a small puke tank and mount it right on the motor piece of cake and works great.

Same situation here. Got some new Comp Cams valve covers that don't have holes in them yet and want to do it right the first time.

There was a good thread on this a few months back in the v-drive section. It's probably buried 7 to 10 pages back or so, but I believe it is also simply titled "Puke Tank" . Should help you out, F1~

Call DuaneHTP either at Hi-Tech Perf, or PM him.

He has an evac setup on his 1200HP family lake boat (injected Basset Thru-Transoms). Works just fine, be he knows a dam sight more about it than I do.
