I have a set of eagle h beam rods with .927 pin bushings. In marine app will the hold up ok? would it be better if I change to .990 bushings.

.927 is a small block pin, how long are those rods?

    6.135 BBC rods
From eagle I guess some drags racers like to run lighter pins. I was told I could change the bushings. I don't know if machining the rods would be required.

Sell those and buy a normal set Brian. By the time you spent money on those you will be money ahead.

Oliver Is the only way to go. Been beating the same set up for 11 years changed the bolts @ 10 years
QE 2050 W/ a Junk ass screw blower

90% of the game is half mental... The pursuit of the unknown is priceless & gratifying . Sometimes it just takes good old fashion balls. No amount of reasoning or evaluation can deem it right or wrong. At the end of the day stick with whatever gives the person in question morning wood LOL

While that's great that Oliver rods have worked fine for you, that is not a correct statement. There are all kinds of good rods that will work for various combinations and demands. As it happens, I know Scapegoat and doubt that Oliver rods are in his budget, nor necessary for what he is probably going to build.

    Barry, consider it done. Thanks.
Olivers are a bit much for my needs.

There are plenty of .927 pins making 100 hp per cylinder

But it would mean a custom piston, instead of something off the shelf. Likely they are lighter sbc pistons as well.

I think it would be simpler for him to sell those rods and go with a conventional .990 pin. He was local to me before my move to the river, had been by my place a few times,, trying to keep things simpler for him.

Thanks guys, especially Barry. I want to keep thinks pretty standard for the most part, nothing radical as I won't be winning any races.
