Maybe thats a 10141279? Vortec casting. Be careful of your combination so you don't get too much compression, make sure to take that 100cc chamber into account. Should give good low end power, depending on how high you plan to turn the engines, maybe not my first choice on a "performance" type build.

    Default "Vortec" heads

I've used those "Vortec" heads on several engines but only for tow vehicles. They are great off idle and pull well to about 4500-5000. They would benefit from porting however their intake runners are fairly small and the valves are 2.06 and 1.72 respectively.. They are a big improvement over the "peanut port" head but I wouldn't put them on a performance boat simply because of the restrictions. Now if you have an old 454 in a truck with flat top pistons with the "peanut port" heads I wouldn't hesitate to swap the "Vortecs on it. With the 100cc combustion chamber and better swirl technology you would pick up a significant performance increase.

Without having all the specific dome volume, deck height, etc. Plan on compression ratio going up about 1 point over a 119cc head.

You are planning on running premium fuel?

We need more information on what you currently have in your boat before anyone can give you any real good advice.

Is this boat running twin engines? Is that what I am getting from your post? and you are trying to buy 4 of these L-29 heads to replace some existing ones? or building new GEN 5/6 motors?

Barry is the expert on these things, but still needs to know: Which heads were on them before? same or other? Are you changing the head type? Rectangle, round or oval ports? Your intake will have to match.

But for basic low rpm, 400-450 hp use those heads will work.... but they lack in other places, adjustable rockers for one.... small intake ports, cam range, etc

I have NO motors in the boat never did,Yes it is twins it is a 38' boat.Starting with short blocks flat tops. going to put mild cams in them. My question will these heads work.I have a chance to get them but don't know if they will work for what I want to do.I understand they are oval ports. That's why I asked the question will they work In the boat just wanting to run them at cruise 3300 3400 RPM. Not a all out offshore boat.

You have several people who have answered, besides myself. They will work,,,,,,,but, pay attention to what I said above!

My main points were to make sure what compression you will end up with, and make sure to run premium gas with a big boat and 9-1 (give or take) compression.
