Default Which cam for blown HP500?

Would like some opinions on a cam upgrade.
Motor is a '97 gen VI HP500, carbureted version.
Heads/pistons/crank and cam are stock. I run 9lbs. intercooled boost
on 100LL with a 3.3 Whipple. Currently maxed out about 5400rpm.
I would like to pick up 200-300 rpm with no other changes
    except cam.

Crane 741 to turn 58-5900. Crane 651 to turn a little harder. I ran the 651 with stock 500hp bottom end, stock heads no intercooler, 871 roots at 8# of boost with no issues on 93 octane..turned ~6300. I know Crane is closed down, but you should be able to find some around. You might want to go to lower pitch prop to get into the 6k range. The heads are DONE there.

I may be worth talking to Chris Straub (CSTRAUB) to hve a custom cam made for a blower application. For the cost, it's well worth it.

Bob Madera is a great source for Cam design as well. He specializes in marine and did my cams in the 565's, they hit the build goals "right on the numbers" first try. His number is 585-654-8583. I will tell you though that the 741 or 651 are a great cam for your application...they were designed yrs ago for untouched Chitty Gm heads and their AWEFUL exhaust flow numbers...

X3 on Chris Straub's cams. Plus, he's kind of a local here.
