    Default Race Gas stabilizer

So, when putting the boat to bed for any extended period of time, I usually try and drain my tank of race gas and use it in other toys. Just curious what you guys are doing in between trips to the water. Do the normal off the shelf stabilizers work with leaded race fuels? Is it overkill to do or add anything to the fuel system if the boat was only going to sit for say 4-5 weeks?

Since race gas has no ethanol does it need to be stabilized? I buy my fuel in 54 gal drums and it takes 8 months to use two drums. The fuel seems to be fine at the end of the season.

    Default Race Gas Stabilizer

I just finished my left over race gas from last September in this last weekends race. It was fine. There are a few basic rules you need to follow with any fuel for storage. Keep it sealed up, write a date on the bucket if that's how you buy it so you have an idea how long you have had it. Use the old fuel first, and keep it out of the sun and heat. UV can play hell with fuel as well. I've stored fuel for over a year in sealed containers without issues. Now get out there and peddle that throttle!!!!!
