Default What is a 392 Hemi worth ?

I ran across an old Hondo flat that's in pretty bad shape. The guy who has it wanted an arm and a leg for it, I laughed a little at the price. He thought he was going to get my attention back by saying "It comes with a 392 Hemi".
I haven't questioned about the shape of the motor or what mods it comes with, I thought I would do a little home work.
What is a 392 Hemi worth?

    Thanks

90% of the game is half mental... The pursuit of the unknown is priceless & gratifying . Sometimes it just takes good old fashion balls. No amount of reasoning or evaluation can deem it right or wrong. At the end of the day stick with whatever gives the person in question morning wood LOL

I'm might run into him this week, I will look at the boat again. It's on the trailer stacked up high so I haven't looked at the floors and stringers. The bottom looks maybe.
I heard third party that he wanted $6500.00 for the package. He told me $6000.00 when I was looking up at the hull.
I think $1500.00 max for the boat less motor. So that means $4500.00 for the hemi.

Seems little high to me. That's why I ask. I've been a Chevy guy always, never have run any pop so no need for the hemi chamber.

I know it's been taken apart, but nothing more. Is it worth $4500.00 ???

    Thanks

Default Had to let this one go

I met up with the seller with the Hondo and Hemi, The engine is bone stock with cast pistons, iron intake. He said it had zoomies on it but he would have to find them.
One of the cylinders needs a sleeve due to a loose piston pin. Stock valve train with no adjustment. It did have a moon timing cover over the cam, so there is no telling what cam is in it.
I did take the boat with me.........

If anyone wants a 392 I will send you in that direction.

    Thanks,
    David
