    Default Feeling a little blue...

Most of you know I had the old screen name of steelcomp. Well the admin kindly merged my old screen name with my new one this week and one of the things that happened is my mail box was suddenly full!
Well these went back to as far as April of 2013. As I was deleting messages I decided to save all my PM's from GN7 and then I came to what I realized was my last message from him. I tell ya, it teared me up a bit. I sure miss my buddy.

Here's to ya Bob. Just thinkin about ya.

Bob bought a few parts from me occasionally. One time he picked up a tall deck Chevy block from me, the two of us lifted it into the back of his mid 80's type Mustang. That should get a grin from you!

I find myself often going back into the archives and rereading a lot of the threads that Bob posted to. An extreme wealth of information that hopefully will be preserved. I have lost most of my old school mentors the past few years and they are greatly missed. Bob always took the time to answer my questions when I pm him. Forever greatful.

I have Bob quoted in my signature. I never got a chance to meet him.

Bob had a special way about him. He could piss you off and teach you in the same sentence. I learned that I had to come to the forum with humility as he would boldly tell me where I was wrong, but then tell me what I needed to do to fix my problem. I do miss him. It is a shame that we can't download our brains before we pass on. I just hope I do a good job of sharing what I have learned so I can make sure all I have learned is passed on for the benefit of others for years to come.

This section has been on a steady decline in the quality and quantity of reading and conversation ever since his passing. I think about the guy all the time. I used to look forward to seeing what he's stirred up every day as well as trying my best to join in a good techie conversation yet also avoid being caught directly in his sights of very humbling criticisms and/or corrections. I've said it before, I've learned more than engine stuff from Bob... he taught me more about me than anyone ever has, I'm better for it, and I'm grateful. Crazy how some guy on the internet can make such an impact.

We had a bunch of mutual friends and everyone felt the same way about Bob even his ex-brother in-law who Bob really respected! It was fun to remissness about the early days as much as later technology and development. We all have the same type of brain in our physical body but I wonder how he could retain and recall so much. He was a special person in many ways............................... We all miss you and respect what you gave us! Gods Speed, see you one of these days................

I still have a bunch of PMs from Bob too. I really miss how I would send him a PM asking a question, but he usually wouldn't give me the answer. He would give me hints, and the right info to figure it out myself. Sometimes it took a few smacks on the head to get me thinking right (he was good at that).

Its just not the same without him.

It's interesting how many of us have exactly the same feelings.
Like many others, I never met him but looked forward to seeing his posts or another PM..
He was, and still is a huge asset to this site.
    He definitely is missed.

    Default Gone, but not forgotten

Anybody else miss this guy? I finally got PB to honor my password and username. Haven’t been able to get on since the interruption. Like others here, I also was a recipient of his knowledge and insight. The RaysonCraft LP in the background, came together because of Bob. Never met him, often wished I could have. With his wit and humorous sarcasm he livened things up,(kinda miss him and SHBH going at it) I have tried to archive as much of his knowledge found on this site concerning BBC’s. Looked all over the ‘Net to find pictures of him, had to plagiarize a group shot. Anybody have pictures of him to share?............. yeah, I miss having him around, GN7 RIP.

Understood Scott as I have more than a few PMs from him.

He was one of a kind
