    Default E-85 Conversion

The local gas station just started selling E-85. I'm hoping for a little direction from the guys that have already done this, and by the end, hopefully this will be some valuable info for the next guy that tries it.

What I have here is a street driven camaro. I know, its not a boat, but I may do this conversion to my eliminator if it works good.

It has a 548 inch all aluminum motor with an 8-71 blower and enderle bird catcher and the square style barrel valve, high speed bypass, and only one set of nozzles in the hat. It has an 80A pump It is currently set up to run on methanol. The engine is around 11:1 and is set up to make about 10 lbs of boost.

From what I have read in the other threads, i get that I will need to lean it out around 16%. That doesn't seem like much, so I'm thinking about just leaning the idle mixture down and then swapping fuel and see how it works. Any hot tips would be great.......

why dont you get a REAL motor in that turd!!
Got to change the pill size also in the high speed, you can always get it to idle by shutting off fuel. What is you leak down at now at idle? 75% or more. you might have to drop nozzle size too. just my 2 cents, but I am just a stupid boater.

I haven't started playing with it yet. I have a box of nozzles and pills, and a gas spool here for the b-valve. Ive heard conflicting advise on twich spool to use, So I guess Ill have to just try it, theres no better way to learn than to explode stuff in the driveway, haha!

Whatever you do, start fat then work your way carefully lean. Unlike your Alky setup, you will have far less forgiveness for making lean conditions. The trade-off is that you will be able to read these plugs far easier than Alky plugs.

Listen to the Doctor, he is wise. Stay with the Alcohol spool you can allways take more fuel away. (FAT)

If you could fill me in on what works for you that would be cool....let you blow yours up first.
