Default Tuning problems, can't get to idle

I cant seem to get my setup to idle I have 2 750dp on 496 here is the rest of the build info

    Gen4 12.2 to 1 188 rec port heads 219 , 188 no port work
    comp cam 11-771-8
    duration In 280 exh 286
    duration @ 50 In 242 exh 248
    lift In 646 exh 653
lobe lift In 381 exh 385
    lobe center 110
    intake center line 106

    carbs holley 4779
    PV 6.5
    Pri jets 74
    sec jets 80

Can someone tell me what I need to do to get this setup to work. It will not idle at all and I have to pump the $*^# out of it to get it to make the transion from the idle up into nothing less than WOT seems to be all or nothing . I had a friend with me and he put his hand over the choke tower of one carb and it went to running a bit beter. Is it that I am over carbed? I cant even get it to settle down and run long enough to put a timming light on it.

I'm not asking much just a miracle, any help would be great.

    Thanks,
    Don

assuming everything else is correct,(timing, jetting, etc) what I have done in the past is to drill 2- 1/8" holes(1 in each primary throttle blade) this allows more air without uncovering the idle transition slots. works like a charm! and you can always plug them up if it doesn't work, but it has always worked for me in unblown apps.

i dont believe that this cam will make enough vac to close that 6.5 power valve plug them off and jet up or use a vac gauge to find the right size you probably be 3.5-4.5 pv size drilling holes in the throttle plates will help start with small drill work ur way up every motor is different

I think you have a major vacuum leak.

Default Just call me dumb ^$$

Found the problem. Had a leak in the intake gasket.Running a lot better now but still needs some tunning will try smaller power valves before I drill the pri. flutterbys.
    Thanks

Whats the problem now that you got the intake gaskets to seal? Power valve changes i dont think will affect the idle. I would play with it some more or call sombody like jesse over at bigs performance before drilling some holes in those plates...

They will if they are open at idle due to the wrong vacumn rating.

Holley told me if the PV opens during idle it will run rich. Now some one on here a while back, I think Infomaniac, said the two curcuits are independent and shouldn't have any affect. I don't know, but I'm goimg to plug my PV and see if it leans out my idle any. If it don't, then it's time to try the air bleeds.

Are you having a idle problem where you cant get it to idle low enough or a idle problem where you cant get it to idle high enough. It sounded like the rpm idle was too low from your original post.

The PV circuit runs through the main wells and discharges through the main discharge nozzles. The idle circuit is completely separate and not effected by the PV.
