    Default big thanx chris straub

i plugged in those specs and yeahhhhhh, i like it alotttttt dude thanx alot, i never expected this motor to do much but i'm feeling better about my 80mph goal now with it the sim programs show the most perfect curves i've seen up to 6k, where i wanted it, awesome job brother!tried off the shelf cam specs time and again without finding anything near as nice on paper. now just gotta put it in and see if it'll run as good as it should

i'm not doin anything but a hyd cam change, swapping rockers to roller rockers(thanx again cheyenne580), and putting on a dart single plane oval port intake(boat had a dual plane polished performer, which is fo sale now cheap) so far it "should" yield a 75-100hp difference in what it had, and even bigger tq increase, not badddd i know what it turned last trip out, know the mph on gps, wrote it all down on a empty cig pack and still have it,lol, let's see if she picks up some!

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

was just playin with it on nitrous and it seems to like it too, didn't think it would but if the motor still can't turn the pump to my rpm goal, i may stick a small shot on it to get it there my welding supply shop called the other day about my rental nitrous tank, sob is still 1/2 full and i either need to carry it back or pay another yrs rental on it, gotta get this cam and stuff in before the weekend, see if i need alil squeeze

i've got a shitload of headfiles in my dd2000 and use it most of the time, play with the cam iterator program against whatever headfile i use. i've got virtual engine dyno advanced, and the comp cams camquest(which is good for picking out off the shelf comp cams). the virtual engine is a pos, i spent hrs putting in headfiles and it lost em all the 1st time i shutdown the program dd2000 is pretty decent as long as you're feeding it the cam specs and headflow files. its not perfect, but will give ya good idea how a motor will react to 1 cam or another

When I play with CamQuest...if I load flow numbers, most of the time HP/TQ numbers won't show. If I keep it simple (use their standards) then power numbers appear. It is good for getting ballpark on cam selection though...especially for mild stuff.

Actually the one above is projected after we put injection on it. This is it now with 2 650 carbs on a tunnel ram. About 30 HP diff and peak HP 1,000 RPM diff.

Hmm..... Chris specs his cams on a computer program. Maybe that's why they are computer program friendly

didn't seem to bother you when your dad's motor was modeled on a sim program and you guys put the cam in did it? they are as accurate as teh info you feed em. dd2000 works great for the basic math of a motor and when you have CORRECT headflow files to plug into it along with the correct open/closing event times, they're pretty close.
