Anything better than the ones you're using.

Rhodes lifters were popular, but relly more of a gimmic than anything. All they really were was out of spec lifters that someone found a niche for and capitalized on with some good marketing. Thing is, under the right conditions, they actually worked!

I'm having good results with the Comp Cams Pro Magnum lifters. They have a retaining plate instead of a clip...it WILL NOT come out.

However, you only preload them 0.002-0.004" (zero to 1/8 turn) according to Comp Cams instructions. From this I'm guessing that they're an anti pump up design.

AC Delco P/N 5232720. This is the GM/Delphi hyd lifter with the 'hard iron base'. It looks like a two piece. Pretty much the best in regards to not wearing out like the other aftermarket and/or import lifters and can run to 7k (small block chevy) if you use 1/8 to no more than 1/4 turn pre-load.

Can get these from any GMPP dealer like here: http://www.sdparts.com/product/52327...licLifter.aspx

You know,-- you "can" run solid lifters on a hydraulic cam. just never try to do it viseversa.
Dirt trackers do it all the time in classes that require you to run a hydraulic stick.
