Unfortunately another well known manufacturer is facing a tough time with the economy. Barry Grant Inc. voluntarly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection today in the United States Bankruptcy Court of North Georgia (Case 09-24349-reb). The filing was for Chapter 11 protection. Barry Grant joins Holley as two major fuel system manufacturers currently operating under Chapter 11. Barry Grant Inc operates the Demon Carburetion, BG Fuel Systems, and Nitrous Works brands.

Getting scarier as the days go on.

For those still buying hp things - okay, all things - please strongly consider where your money's going. Please support your own so they have a better chance of supporting you.

We need them. They need us.

The Czar said that 'the recession is over', so these guys should be in the clear in a matter of weeks.
But in real humans terms, I feel for these guys. I hope they can make it though this tough time.

I think some of these guys had a great time building high profit, high profile businesses, but it sure doesn't seem they were very wise with all that money...
    or were they...

Seems like in good times they try to expand their product line to improve position in the marketplace. When times are bad, their core products may move, but their bloated overhead becomes just too much to carry. Even if they can lay off fast enough, they are saddled with loans for manufacuring equipment and leases on buildings they no longer require.
