What type of lifter are you running?

Had a simmular problem a few years back, severe galling on the lifter and lifter boer. Turned out the material of the lifter and the material of the block didn't get along... bronze bushed the lifter bores and problem was gone.

It was a merlin 2 or 3... they didn't move around much... but were galled up pretty bad to where they were sticking in the bores and chewed the bores up... I had one do this and a couple of other folks were having the same issue at the time and ended up fixing 4 or 5 blocks all with the same problem with the bronze lifter sleeves. All were using Crower lifters... 3 had the hydraulic rollers and the others were solid roller.
