I'm the wrong guy to ask about clearances but why can't he make a little up with a copper gasket?

Could be done. But the block needs to be O ringed. Possibly Cometic makes a sandwich gasket that is thicker.

SCE MAKES A COPPER THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO USE A 0-RING WITH BUT THEY ARE 25o plus a set, kinda outta my pocket at this point.

the thickest fel-pro composite type i can find is .051,but im afraid that wount be thick enough,

if i machine the pistons it messes up the balancing.come to find out something else is freaky the pistons on 1 side is less above than the other.im guessing the pistons are out of whack

Cause the deck is off bank to bank.
You can cut the pistons down without fear of balance (would be slightly overbalanced which is fine) but I think you were looking for a specific compression ratio in your other thread. No idea where that would put you compression wise for what you wanted.

If flat top then it's simple.

If dome....cut the deck area (flat area) what you need to. Then put the cylinder head on with no gasket. If the piston clears the head with no gasket then you are good to go. Otherwise you will have to cut the piston dome a little. Doubt that will happen.

im past the point of no return my uncle lost his job told me to make the most i could with x-amount of money.

so if i have less than .040 clearance then what will happen.like if i have .028-.030.with the .051 gasketwill the pistons end up hitting the head or what

Never tried it but would not go there. I am sure Cometic makes a gasket that would not be $250 a pair.

I had my block o-ringed for $10.00 a hole, pretty cheap ins.IMO not to worry about ever blowin a head gasket.
