The story from the owner is: The reason for the big stroke and tiny bore was the way engines were taxed. They were taxed by the bore size so they put big strokes and multiple cylinders to get the cubes.
I know that's the way the British were doing it.......It explains why my 56 Healey has a 4 cyl with 3.4375" bore and 4.375" stroke. Con rods are 8.183" long.

No. Daimler is(was?) a British car manufacturer. Probably best known here in the states for their 60's offering of a rather odd looking roadster called the SP250. Had a little hemi-headed V-8 in it.
