Default Interested in building a blower or turbo motor

I've been reading on here for quite a while now, but I don't post very often. I'm fairly new to jet boats. I've had my 1998 Warhawk TX19 for about 3 years now. Its fairly mild, 468, 10.5 compression, with Edelbrock performer heads, single plane intake, and an 850. Boat currently runs 80-82, and I believe it has a B impeller.

Looking to step up to something more powerful, and forced induction has caught my interest. Definitely want to go boosted if I can find a good combo. I would like to run the same bottom end components now except for swapping to a set of lower compression pistons and a cam. Will the heads I have now work ok for forced induction.

I've read alot about blowthru setups and runing either a procharger or single turbo is what I had mind. Without changing my engine setup too much, what kind of potential do I have? Any combos you guys would recommend?

what do you do with the boat? is space an issue? or is this just a hot rod cruiser boat with 2 seats?

    which do you like better?

I would guess, in your case either turbo or procharger would work great. I think the turbo guys here are a little on the crazy side...they like things that get a little out of hand. And typically the big turbo blow thru deals are little harder to put a cap on. Boost and power get to be little out of control and can take a bit or work to really dial in. A procharger would be an easier setup to dial in, and you can get the pulleys to make as little or as much boost as you want possibly making it a little more consistent. But both would yield you more than enough power.

again, still comes down to what you want to do, and what style you like more.

Right now it has a rear bench seat, but I wouldn't be opposed to swapping the seating up, or possibly even removing, although it would be nice to be able to seat four people from time to time.

Sounds like the procharger might be the way to go from a tuning and reliability perspective. I'd like something in the 750-800 hp range, with the option to turn it up further in the future.

Could I use my existing heads with lower compressoin pistons and a new cam, and get anywhere close to my power goals?
