Default msd 6+ box tach and rev limiter questions

I'm wondering what adapter i need to hook my tach up to this #6 msd box, and what my options are for a rev limiter since my ignition box is without an internal rev limiter. I am running the full msd distributor, coil, and ignition box on my 383 Chevy.

To hook your tach up, run the green tach wire to the little male spade connector on the side of the box. For a rev limiter, sell your box and get a 6AL.

You've got the Digital 6 Plus box right? The rev limiter chips work fine.

Go on the MSD site for wiring instructions.

go to the MSD website and you can pull up your wiring diagram.

    you will have:

a purple and green that both go to the distributor.

a white that is only used if you have points

An orange and black that go to the coil

a big red and big black that go to the battery....even though MSD says not to...put a fuse on the big red wire.

A little red that goes to the key

then there is a little spade terminal in the side of the box...your tach wire plugs in here.

If you have an "L" box, you will have 2 little round holes that accept the rev limiter chip. I'm not familiar with the marine boxes so aside from being a 6A painted blue and full of epoxy, I'm not sure if there are any other differences.

The MSD 6M-2 does not have a built in rev limiter. It requires a 8768 soft touch limiter. It is the only limiter that works with the 6M-2. The 6ML-2 has a built in limiter.

Hooked up the grey wire to my tach, but it cant be accurate. It's reading way too high I think. What is a moderately low idle rpm for a sbc? I think right now its pretty low. But the tach is telling me its at 1200.
