Default 990 heads vs Dart Pro-1 heads

Edit: lets change up the question:

10.5:1 489ci, mild solid roller (don't have specs handy at the minute).

Was running ported 990s w/ 660 carbs on an old Eddy tunnel ram.

I'm thinking of switching to some box stock Dart 310s, Dart single plane intake and a 1050 2 circuit dominator...cuz I've got the parts sitting there. Will I get significant gains from these changes? The motor previously spun a big B impeller to about 6100.

Guess that would depend on who ported the 990s. But they would have to be pretty damn good to match a set of out of the box Darts with a good valve job. The exhaust port alone is worth a little by themselves. Steel would have a better idea as to what a set of 990s can flow. But they aren't that great. I wouldn't be shocked by 50HP with right cam

The Dart heads are a much better choice than the 990's. Sell the Dart intake and get an Edelbrock. The 1050 is fine. The improvements will depend on the cam grind.

Hopefully I'll have some cam specs in the next couple days. The motor that came in the new boat is a 13:1 solid roller 468 that I'm robbing the top end from. I'm not sure what cam is in it yet. I'm switching everything over to the 489 because I don't feel like paying for race gas.

Steel, What's the difference tween the Eddy and the dart intakes?

The Ede's out of the box will make more power than the darts. The Darts have distribution issues and take a lot of work to make right.
