    Default overdrive or undrive

    550 cid bbc 8.5:1, dart 320s that flow 400in/ 300ext cfm (ported), isky rr-730-b (730/727 lft, 282/288, 110 lc, 112 ls), and 8-71 w/2 1150 dom.
    my question is where should i start with pullies? the pullies i have are a 43 and a 45 8mm. looking to get about 6-8 psi boost. this is a pump gas motor.

    try the 43 on the bottom , that is 5% under, If you want more power then put the 45 on bottom and 43 on top 1.05% overdrive, ..........E

    Simple if you lose switch pulley position. Fixed It for ya Good luck Trev, hopefully there will be a E-85 station in the future close by.

    With the 43 upper and the 45 lower your looking at close to 8lbs, with the reverse your looking at about 6lbs. Its a good selection of pulleys for a start because it puts you close to where you want to be, with out being a huge difference when switched.


    Ps. That is a nice combo you have there. Ask me how I know Of course it is even better with a bit more compression and race gas! I think your cam may be a little long for your boost level, but it just makes your deal a little safer from detonation. The 730A may have been a better choice. I have found that cam works a little better 4* advanced.

    thanks gn . no worries on the compresdsion the motor is actuly 9.5:1 but i added a .075 thick head gasket to get some copression out of it. so if this is not what ium looking for ive got a .040 gasket and a bird catcher on the shelf ready for alky.
