    I am starting on friday to assemble my 455 Olds.

    Any tips, pointers and special advice,do's and doent's will be highly appreciated.

    Well ya...build a backup motor

    Actually, the $600 short block i built is still hanging together...probably 30+ hours on it..a week or so ago i stuck a 12z17 cleaver on it and ran
    it 3+ miles @ 5100 rpm...The only mods are .003 rods and mains...drilled drain backs 10 qt pan w/8qts 20/50 anything oil with GM EOS additive and marine head gaskets...makes 45lbs oil [email protected] 4500 and 15 hot idle.....

    the most important things to me me are the clearances and the head gaskets...

    And good luck on the build..i know you made a serious commitment for buying the best parts....and major effort just getting them.....
