    Default what block (exactly)

    cast# 3999290....GM9T....C15*72
    and it has a cast of PERF behind the starter
    and the starter has multiple bolt configurations
    it has 2 bolt main
    i do know its a 396, but that 9290 cast spans 4 yrs. what does the gm9t depict and also the last set of numbers.

    that narrows it down. dissapointed now means less hp than a 68-69

    454 bbc flat top pistons 9 to 1 comp. Supposed to be ls6. If original not a bad motor. Oh yea, .060 overbore

    ya, just wondering about what year...I guess some of these could go .100 over pretty easily.

    I'm told Canadian blocks will go .123 over. Better sonic check it.

    Not necessarily, remember in 71' the way HP was rated changed.... From gross to net. It made a big difference on paper, but I know of many 72's that ran just as hard as earlier cars.

    my info has this block as a 72 2 bolt 402
    why bother boring a 2 bolt block with that small of bore anyways..

    mark 4 454's 4 bolts are going for 300 bucks around here, there was a t/d bowtie on this site for 800.00 bucks last week in the parts spam pages.
