    Default Dizzies and Tunnelrams

Ok so what dizzies will fit with a tunnelram?
Have been looking at the MSD marine #83606, but have found nothing that said it will def fit the Tr.

I'm not here for a long time, I'm just here for a good time!

You can get a MSD pro-mag 12 for about the same price as the vertex , which should fit and is a lot better than a vertex ...E

Sir, and others interested in lightning in a jar,

Methinks that if you are going to be making any serious cylinder pressure that it would behoove you to go for a larger cap. Particularly if you choose to stay with a battery powered ignition system. Even if that requires a front drive distributor it is worth the effort.

I would think that the overall expenditure vs having to find spare parts if you get in a bind at the water you would be ahead with the battery powered gig. Life is made of choices.

    IG

O/P didn't say what motor...probably one of them chevy guys...
Offy tunnel on and olds will fit an HEI...it doesn't look like it but i have a BIG HAMMER!........ Actually...just took a little grinding and it fits fine.
More than enough spark for a 5100 rpm olds and have run them up to 7200 rpm in them chevy motors with no problems....

And that spare parts thing....i had 2 uno-lites...one left me paddling...and no parts in town...If the HEI dumps i just rob the one in my truck for parts....

Mine works fine, but I'm probably not in the high cylinder pressure camp with my combo. 600" 11:1 6500 - 7000 RPM at WOT and the cranking pressure is between 185 and a little over 195 depending on what lake I'm on and what type of racing I may be doing. Jesel belt drives are the chit!

The part numbers tell you it's a chevy. As far as I know, the MSD will clear all the T rams except the Dart, and it will even clear that with some very carefull grinding. And I mean carefull. But then, your not running a Dart T Ram are you?

Actually with the grinding shown in the picture I posted the stock MSD Marine Billet fit with with the wire boot just barely kissing the TR. I didn't like that and dropped the small cap distributor in and there's roughly .100 clearance. Mine is a Dart.

Yeah, the small cap MSD will clear the Dart. The two people I know that ground the Dart for the standard MSD said they would do it again. One need some repair work done

    Dart?
Naw....really really old (s) school offy...
I did take a pretty good cut of the back to get it to fit and be able to rotate for adjustment but according to my high tech 'round the corner' measuring device, (tong type vice grips) there is still 3/16" of material left.....the red line is where i filed the cap hold down...it still works normal and blue line is cut on the intake....ya it looks messy...new cap, taylor wires and re-polished now.And no laughin at my olds motor[email protected] $4 per hp it runs ok....and i bet it runs at least 50

I run that very distributor with the old style cap, fits just fine. No grinding, and turns with out touching anywhere.
