    Talking my first 454 build

    i have a 16 foot tahiti and im building a 454 to run it .
    how much cam is to much and single plane manifold or duel plane

    You are alright. You scare me. Years ago I had a 16 Tahiti with a 350 in it. Could not have been 400 hp. Only ran 80-85. It scared the chit out of me. Can only imagine a BB in one. Be sure to get a movie.

    Mine is only 16ft with a 454...everybody tells me it wont do over 65...

    it had a 427 when new its a 65

    Mine's a '79 and came stock with the 454. I'm quite happy with my build. PM me if you wanna discuss specs...I think most everyone will want to know more about what you want from the boat...the more info the better...

    the jet is a j12c . it came from behind a 455 olds in a 19 foot boat
    i dont know what impeller it has but i figured it would work behind another big block .
    i thought about a small block but ive alwas had a big block 4 spd car so it figures i would have a big block boat

    the engine came out of a 76 chevy truck . it has 8 to 1 compression and all i have other than that is a set of over transom headers and a marine distributer so far

    Isky z-89 Flat tappet (.636 lift and 256 durration @ .50 on a 108)
    Tunnel ram with a pair of 660's or even some double pumpers. Add a set of 990's and be done with it.
    It wont be that fast because its in a Crap Tahiti hull.....

    I know, your one of those guys that would reccomend the 049's and the AirCrap intake. That's nice but it costs TONS of MPH...
    Have you ever ran the combo I suggested?
    Read the thread about Tunnel Rams and how people suggest parts that they've never ran...............
