I just bought a set of these Cranes. wide body tapered to clear angle valve covers.
I was told thats what's installed in all their engines.

If you are gonna run a radical cam and adjust valves often. Get a shaft rockers set up from JESEL.

Otherwise, get the Crane Gold aluminum rocker arms and forget about it.

I personally don't like Aluminums. With aluminum's fatigue fact of life, they WILL eventually break.

I'm very happy with the Comp Hy-Tech Stainless Steels I am running, but they are out of your budget by about $75 (unless you find a used set for a good price). Had mine overhauled and still spent less that a new set of Comp Pro Magnum Steels ($290 a set).

smokin you always are against aluminumi have have never had a single problem with them eve with high spring pressures.i can understand that the other way is alot better steel or shaft mount jeselbut in reality there is nothing wrong with a good qaulity set of aluminum rollers.many peeps run them and have for years.my rollers are cam dynamics been on this mill for about 5 years run it hard seat pressure is moderate and they perfrom flawless.might break someday, ohwell

    Stud mount, go steel.
Aluminum will work fine, but you can have better piece with a steel set at a comparable price!! Strength, less deflection, better all around!

If money isn't a big concern, go with a Shaft type. T&D is nicer than Jessel (ratio/geometry ect.) IMHO!!!!!

Top of the line would be shaft mounted steel but.......$$$

That is what we're running in the 89 boat now. We ran the old, 20 or 30 years old), Crower steel. I sent them back to Crower 2 weeks ago, and DJ called yesterday to say they are kinda worked, and VERY old. I'll replace those with another set of Enduros cheaper than having the old ones rebuilt......I see shaft rocker failures on a regular basis in boats that get wrung out.......MP
