Default lil help building some lsx zoomies

easy nuff to pick up some 1/2 in thick flanges but im having hell findin 1.75" 180* ubends with at least 8inches of straights on them, this way i can order 4 180* bends, slice them in half and have the 8 zoomie pipes i need. tried several mandrel bending places but noone seems to wanna bend them for me, jus wanna sell me off the shelf ubends with 6inch straights. anybody gta net source for what im looking for that i can jus paypal and get em coming?

    looking for:

    1.75" mild steel 16g
    3" bend
at least 8" from the tangents(8" straights on both ends)

of course i can cut down the extra length if i find some too long, but aint gna build a ugly set of zoomies and have 2 pipes welded together on each pipe, that'd look like shitttt

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

If you get the wider radiused bends, you can get the 6" legs to look pretty good. I did this set and laid them WAAAAYYYY back, but this is how they look.

damn man, that's mean looking!! im diggin it

im gathering materials for my uncle to build him a set of zoomies for his lil 17ft earl smith tunnel, gna end up runnin a 370ls motor in it with a 250hp shot of nitrous(for now lol). if 6" straights are plenty long nuff, id go that direction, pretty sure 6" will clear the hull.

wannabe, think 6" of straight on a smallblock is plenty?

ive got his c.o.p. ignition done, a carb'd intake bought and here, gna use a 750dp he already has , but gta do exhaust now and a set of zoomies will look pretty cool , get embee to coat em.

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

Some of those longer legs on that sheet look pretty good.

I was actually surprised that the 6" worked as well as they did. They should be enough for a small block. The length in the actual bend made up quite a bit more distance than I would have thought not building them up. Also, 6" was the shortest of all of the legs. They were actually a little longer. And where else are you going to get a set of stainless zoomies for a total cost of $200? Really?!

I've bought 409 stainless J bends from Jegs before and it worked fine.

Cool looking zoomies, what diameter are they?

wasnt hard to find what i needed in ss, but these zoomies are for 1 season then he'll either hang em on the wall or they'll end up in spam section here. he wants to try a big shot of nitrous on a ls this season, and if that's not nuff to be as quik as he wants, we'll put a s488 on it with a qft blowthru and make over 1000 with the same longblock that we'll only get 700hp out of with big nitrous. he's not looking to be the quickest anymore, jus wants a cool ass smallblock setup like nobody elses.

If I remember right they were 2.25". I don't like the huge sewer pipe look and sound (and also think the increased velocity could help based off of the CI and RPM range). We were going to try the funny car zoomies, but it would not have worked all that well out the side of the hull.

Oh, and with that diameter the evacuation line we welded in (Buzzz welded in actually since we wanted them to look nice) worked quite well. It did a great job of pulling vacuum from the crankcase. I was impressed.

I was just curious Paul, I have a friend that swears by zoomies on his NA deal but I'm not entirely sold on his set up. I couldn't tell if those were 2-1/4" or 2-1/8" tubes so I figured I'd ask. That set you posted there sure looks nice, I didn't think I could lay them back that far using 2-1/4" tubes on mine but I guess I figured wrong some where. lol

    Have a great day

you're able to draw evacuation with zoomies that short? if that's the case, we better do the same on the zoomies we're building, be that much easier to keep oil in the motor instead of in the boat
