    Default Ultradyne

    Picked up an ULTRADYNE hyd. roller for a song couple of weeks ago, and
    just wonderin' if anyone has ever used any of their marine grinds. I remember back in the day bunch of circle track buddies swore by em'
    and you could always tell who was runnin' em cuz they had a very distinct
    sound! anyways, this is supposed to be a "custom blower grind" for an
    outdrive app-and specs sounded about right duration wise for my 509
    238/246* @.050,.601/.601 lift, on a 114*lsa. heads are AFR305's w/cnc
    chambers- self ported(just cleaned up & polished)looking for about 5500-5800rpm- should I run it, or send it to straub for some tweaking?

    Bullet Cams bought out Ultradyne some years ago. I have been an Ultradyne/ Bullet fan for years. Give em a call. Be prepared to dial dozens of times. I think they have 2 lines and busy signal is common.

    Blownjet,

    I can't seem to remember the cam grinder's name that designed the UD profiles but they have been decent grinds for years. The Ultradyne profiles are now a part of Bullet Camshafts in Memphis. John Partridge of Bullet was with Lunati for a long number of years, etc.

    I don't have a lot of experience with UD, but Tim at Bullet ground an Ultradyne profile roller for Grammy's lake boat that has performed very well.

    Great guys to work with, especially boats. If you give them accurate info they can nail the grind.

    The guy who owned Ultradyne name is Herold and is now responsible for the new line of VOODO Lunati cams. I have one in my blown SB 57 Chevy gasser and another one in a 525 BBC. Harold is one of the smartest cam grinders of all time IMHO and they run hard as hell. Everything else I own is running a Ultradyne (from the old days) and haven't tried a Bullet but I hear they work good?
    Everything electrical has smoke in it.... and it's not done till you let the smoke out!

    The guy's Name is Harold, you can usually get responses from him over on the Team Chevelle Forum - www.chevelles.com - he goes by the name UDHarold.
    I read a lot of good about his BBC cams and have just purchased one, but not ran it yet. He seems like a real nice guy with a ton of knowledge.

    I have a new in box Ultradyne that never got installed (originally purchased for different application). I'm running a Bullet now and I love it...heard nothing but good about Ultradyne though...

    hell if its cheap and works ill run it, that's the kinda guy i am lol i do all my own engines as cheap as i can do it and know it'l stay together. i only have 150 in my custom lsx turbo hyd roller in my new engine, had a new off the shelf gm performance cam reground with specs i picked out someone gave me, jus grew the pushrod length to compensate for what was removed from the cam's basecircle. so ive got 240bucks in cam/aftermarket pushrods with heavy walls instead of 500+bucks for a custom cam then having to still by longer pushrods.

    lsx cams are expensiveeeee, cam cores are really higher. custom roller ls cam is twice what a bbc cam is normally.

    anyone ever read the ultradyne "theory behind the lobe design"? I dug out
    my old ultradyne catalog and read the front 5 pgs. this guy has some pretty good stuff there-different-but ,well all I can say is, this guy is amazing- then I started reading the chevelle threads- very good reading!
    he now is the man behind ALL Lunati's NEW stuff! AS MOST ALREADY KNOW
