    Default Eddie TR2X tunnel ram?

what do we know about these TR2X T-rams?

    are they good T-rams?

i have 1 like new and i love the old look they give.

    are they worth a Flip?

i don't like that one port is smaller than the other on it

    why?

just trying to gather some good info

    thanks Travis

The reason for the two port sizes is to help cover for the good port/bad port of the BBC head. In a less than full tilt built I doubt you would see much gain with the Victor. Maybe even less. If I had it, I'd run it. JMO

    thanks Bob.

im going to run it on a 496 decent build.

wondering about it on a 565 HP build.

the victor looks to have a short plenum volume?

rpm range on the victor is 4000-8000 kinda wierd?

The larger plenum is suppose to allow you to run smaller carbs for the same RPM. so it says in the fine print. Remember, when the TRX2 was the shit, Dom weren't that dual Doms weren't that popular onanything less than a full tilt pro stock. The smaller plenum makes the throttle response better and builts more low end, but requires the carbs to be bigger. With Doms the Victor will go past 8000 with no problems.

You should see how big the carbs would have to be if there was no plenum at all like a individual runner deal. Two 1250 Doms can't keep up with a 350 chevy spinning 8500.

i ran a TR2X with two holley 6109`s for 27 years on a TX-19 and loved it. 468 with lunati roller .680/.700 . in fact i just sold the boat to a guy in Warren, Arkansas. i`d buy them back if he ever wanted to sell.

What about adding a spacer between the top plate and base would this an added bonus? WT

check out the one I have in the spam section- it's an oval port victor-for
what its worth-and it works very well on rect. port heads! I know this because I have done it( AFTER seeing DYNO TEST PROOF) it sounds wrong, but it works! and works VERY WELL! might I add it works better
than a sq. port ram on oval port heads for sure! and I'll drop the price
substantially for ya-pm me if interested

My dad ran that manifold on my boat for years (15+) on a very mild 396. When i got the boat i rebuild a 454 with 990 heads, straub cam, 10:1 comp, deal that i assume put down around 500 HP. The manifold had dual 660's sitting on it and ran great! I didnt notice any throttle response problems, and the boat ran pretty good for what it was. When i went to a 498 on this motor i swapped out to the edie vic tunnel ram with a set of 750's. Not sure what it would do on a larger CI engine.

Grady (Vmax) was the one over on the river hitting everybody up to sell him there TX! He was in the jon boat!

From what I hear the Trx 2 should work fine! Dart is nice but I think to big Holley pro dom is also! The Weiand Hi Ram should be a pertty good pick too! If you are going to run 7500-8000 RPM you need the big boys!

One point i would like to make .... ( it happened to me ) The bolts that hold the two halfs together are on the inside . Utilize lock tight and or stud them or pin them , so you don't have the problem of replacing a piston and valve and head ...

And because of where the upper and lower joint is adding a spacer is of little benefit.
