    Default Dyno Testing!!

This is something I am doing this winter! I am planning on building a large cubic inch BBC that I will dyno. I am going to test it with a single 4150(850) carb adapted on a Brodix 2001 intake then go to the 4500 carb(1050)! Next I plan on changing over to the Elde Victor 2R and test with 2 850s adapted then 2 1050s! This is to see what power changes and what will bring the motor to it's top performance!
Yes we all know what a T/R will out perform a single plane but, this will be on paper! And I may even test 2 different dynos to make sure they are on the up an up between the two!
What do yall think is this knowledge or waste! WT

I know I am going to catch crap on this!

If you got the money brother, I'd be interested in looking at the numbers!
but your prob. looking at spending over a grand to do this- if it were my
money, I'd throw it in the boat-and go from there spend that stack of
frankies on some fuel, beer, and whatever else you got in your weekend
program! just sayin' - it's YOUR money!

I get very reasonable rates on my dyno testing! Once it is loaded it's there till the fat lady Sings! And sing she will! 350.00 till it's done! WT

It will be dyno tested anyway.

Is this a pump or race gas motor? Also what rpm range you targeting (jet or flat)? I've got a very similar combo going together right now. Hoping to get on the dyno mid/late December but not looking real good. Seems I keep getting bumped at the machine shop by "paying customers" Regardless, would be real interested in what you find even though I've pretty much made up my mind on which way I'm gonna go.

    Default dyno

Sounds like a good test to do back to back on a dyno, however, it is $$ to do it.

Are you going to do cam changes to compliment the intake changes, or is this a one-cam-fits-all test? If you're sticking with one cam, how are you making that choice
Should be interesting. Inconclusive, but interesting.

Inconclusive I agree! Waste of money! I agree! Dyno testing is a paper product that tells you what an engine will produce in a 4 wall room with alot of computer crap. THATS IT. M

    Default Dyno!

Dyno testing is great for Manufacturers to test and perfect combinations, however for what you are doing, the boat can be your best dyno! Enjoy!

True Story! We try to simulate ambient Temperature, Humidity and Altitude in our Test Cell, however we can't simulate contaminants and other natures surprises-That is what the Lake Dyno Is For!

Save it Ol guy. I can know more about my engine in 4 hrs on the dyno than you'll know about yours in 4 years.

Lots of info on a Dyno, especially if properly equipped with Logging capabilities. You can for sure find your limits without destroying an engine with a Dyno. Like anything else, the Dyno is only as good as the operator!
