    Default The Blower Shop ROCKS!

Well, you all know I him-hawed around most of the winter trying to decide which size, brand, etc to buy. I bought the Blower Shop 10-71. Looks awesome! Even though I know Eric thought I was an idiot, he built me something like I wanted, then made it right. LOL He put high helix rotors in a 10 case with a small area blocked at the back.
    Obviously an awesome piece.
We took it out this weekend. It was BALLS HOT at KDBA this weekend. I told Dave I wanted to start out 6% under where we would have needed to be based on weather. He "Heard" just -6%. LOL Turns out that was closer. We would have had to run the old Mooneyham at +8% based on the air. We started this piece at -6%. It sounded pretty close to me. Off the trailer, ran an 8.11. Not bad for first pass. Added 2%, took out 5 numbers of fuel, 8.01. Good enough for #1 qualifier until lass pass, last round. Another guy ran an 8.008. Hey, WTF do you do?
Turns out this was great! First round we got a legal single as we had 11 boats, and 8.008 guy got the bye. 2nd round, we ran Big Ed Anderson. We had him at the starting line, and pushed him out the back, both. 3rd round we got our bye run (hey, I'd rather be lucky than good any day). 4th round, we ran Jeff Shaller. Another bad ass. We got by him. So, first race, new blower, got to kiss the girl, and take home the check. The year is off to a good start.

Very nice. You'll find 2% a 10th pretty damn accurate for drag cars and hydro's.
    You still run small pump?

I finally stepped up to a 600. 9.7 gpm ish just for Smokin in the Cove. So, I run a bypass off the pump for the 8.0 class and plug it for the Cove race.
    Seems to work pretty good.

Yeah good idea. That was my plan if anyone wanted to go to a 600 from an 80a.

gotta ask, especially with bh whinin; was it hot in the other lane too? or just yours??

and i see the "real" tuner is tellin the guy whassup...

we don't care about no blower thingy. what we're really interested in is the shiny rope deflector, and that pic just doesn't do it justice. (sux really). where's that extension ladder, or 2x6s? need a better pick to assure it's legal.

btw, congrats. but really, we expected nothing less...

I'd have to look at notes. I think the density alt was 3600 ish. BAD for back here. AND the water grains were over 130! We had to double check our weather station. LOL
    It was HOT!
Rope deflector-- well, after all that time I hate it. I will go with V3.
Trish-- I don't know what she was saying BUT that is the tuneup book on the bow in front of Dave. Blow it up enough and you will have all our secrets.
It was funny. There were a dozen guys standing around looking at the boat for the semi and final rounds. Trish's daughter said "Boy, Dave sure is popular, or the boat is." HAHA I told them I'd have to charge them for the secrets.
No secrets. I will tell anyone that wants to know everything I run.

Congrats Wags. So thats a rope deflector! I thought it was some cosmic pyramid air funnel to the hat

bp298, I believe V3 is version 3.0, which is the white thing they standing under trying to figure out how to attach it to the boat. Pretty cool setup because it allows for a lot of sponsorship room as well. But damn, the thing looks like it would catch some serious air on the big end. Maybe the boat is having issues get up on the prop and sponsons.

the multi-purpose deflector is the shiznit. the cosmic pyramid effect may be why he won the race. now he wants to go and screw it up. wags, you aren't gonna change socks too are ya? dude...
this v3 thing is all wrong. nobody, i mean NOBODY that knows anything would use a white top. way too hot under the thing. everybody knows; cooler under black or any other dark color. if yer gonna multi purpose the thing, at least get the color right...

I don't know why I like you guys, but I sure do.

"Black box under the gunnel." This box contains the GPS. It measures distance from starting line/ finish line and adjusts engine rpms acccordingly. The tricky part was recording the competetors position in relation to me. It is tough, but can be done. (this was the purpose of the triangle rope deflector)(it is an antenna also)

The biggest secret we have in our bag of tricks is in the second picture. Right out in the open. See who can get it first?
