    Default Header Coatings

OK, who has the hook up on coatings? I really NEED to do something with my headers. They are chrome/ rust colored. They are old Cragars. Came off a TAD back 30 years ago, went to a buddy of mine, then me. I have had them since 99 so some nostalga value to me. But, they look like crap.
I sent a quote request to Jet Hot, they said 350 to strip and coat. Hell, for that price I can build a set of SS pieces. (almost)
I tried to get Jet Hot to give me a sponsor break. No deal I guess.
So, any other suggestions? I need to decide how much I really like these I guess.

I am not much help, but the $350.00 is about the going price to strip and coat headers unless you can get a sweetheart deal from someone. Good luck and if you find someone let us know.

Oh sure, you think nothing of spending 350 on a whizz bang mystic pyramid rope deflecter, but on a set of headers it too much Here, this is more up your alley.

Awesome! I will look them up. Big Ed lives near Nashville. Maybe I can talk him into dropping them off for me.

Will do. I appreciate the info. So, it is holding up good and looks better than my rusty/ chrome/ blue things? LOL
I sent them a message last night I think. Hope to hear from them tomorrow. I will just yank them off at the race if Ed will take them.
    Thanks

Wags I have had mine out several several times and ran em dry and they look Great .. Talk to Lindsey or Kevin and tell them that Mike Edmondson sent you there way and they will take good care of you .. They will have to strip the chrome and then they put there coating on it .. I spent $100 on gettin the chrome stripped and $250 for the coating .. Best money I have spent so far ,IMO .. And mine was pretty ruff before I took em in Here's a pic when I got em back and they still look the same

    Sweet!
Hopefully the stripping won't cost a hundred for zoomies. Is what it is if it does. I may have an e-mail from them.
    Thanks

Oh, BTW.. how rough? Mine are "chrome rusty" near the ports. The rest is just crappy chrome. My concern was rough crappy looking coating (due to what they had to work with).
So, I am pretty sure under the chrome is fine.

Wags mine had rust between the header tubes and alittle around the weep holes and it all came off after they stripped the chrome .. And this plating is good up to 1200* so it won't turn blue . And it cleans up great .. If there alittle ruff you might take sum steel wool to em to clean em up alittle but I never touched mine and they turned out great .. Saved me $700

Heres a number for Kevin 615-826-4914 . Give him a call, hell of a guy
