Can the Cometic BBC MLS gaskets be reused??
Is this real or the "Twilight Zone"?

Other than being in a pinch, like having to pull a head at the track/river, I wouldn't recomend it.

I don't. However, Cometic says you can. If you do, I'd ceretainly keep same gasket on same side.

I have and yes they are designed to be reused. . Put some permatex #2 around wherever the coating came off around water jackets.

Anymore I use the felpro MLS gaskets. They are a 1 shot deal.

Info, is there a reason your using the fel-pro's now over the cometics? which do you prefer,
and why? I haven't had a problem yet with the cometics, (except for the price) but I don't
build anywhere near the volume of engines that you do, so I know you switched for a reason!

I have had one set on my twin turbo small block for about two years. I have removed the heads 3 times and reused the gaskets each time. I clean them and spray an even coat of copper spray on them each time. I also run them on the blown BBC in the boat but haven't needed to remove the heads yet. When I do, it they show no signs of trauma I will reuse them. The sbc is iron to iron. The BBC is aluminum to iron.
