    Default The Perfect Lifter....

Now available from Morel is the Perfect Roller lifter. . .runs on a hyd roller or a SOLID roller lobe profile. After months of spintron testing, live engine testing, and field testing a new lifter is available to the enthusist. Morel has taken its technology in materials and body design of solid roller lifters and built the ultimate hyd roller. This lifter features an upgraded body, roller, and axle. The stainless tie bar is connected to a 3 button system to prevent binding and premature failure. The valving system has been tweaked to prevent valve float to a tested 7300 rpm. Last but not least the bodies are REM finished. Iin back to back testing in a BBC application this lifter proved to make 34 more HP over a std hyd roller lifter and an increase in additional rpm when used on the same cam profile.

The lifters when used on solid roller cams do have their limits. Spring pressures should be a max of 220# on the seat and 550# open pressure.

This new generation of lifter is recommened for severe street strip use and extended marine applications. You can now have you Solid roller and no lash adjustment.....

There has been some "controversay" over this new lifter so I just wanted to add this. This lifter is not intended nor needed for the average performance boater in the 500 to 600 HP range. This lifter is intended for the guy wanting max power out of his or her boat engine that is going beyond the 6K rpm range or running for extended periods of time.

Hey this is pretty cool. Somebody took the old rhodes lifter ( same princible ) and used the same technology on a roller set-up. Just upgrading an old design. If you know anything about that lifter it is a hydraulic design with a valved pump-up internal design. That is why they will not handle high rpm or alot of spring pressure. If it were me I would stick to a solid roller and enjoy checking the engine valve train once in a while. Show the boat some love. I had built 2 motors 1 for my southwind tunnel back in 1980 and on a three day weekend never touched my valve train. On saturday eve I would pop the valve covers and check the lash and thanks to the moroso stud girdle just put it back together. THe other motor went in my fathers dimarco 19ft cruiser, same situation. That boat didn't last long, Scared the shit out of him. It was a REALLY light lay up and would geuss top end at 115mph. Both were running stainless AA cut berleleys, shoes and ride plates. The southwind (thanks to parker water cops was radared at 122mph. Both would spin well over 6500 rpm. M
