    Default Parking Ticket

Has anybody got a parking ticket for taking up two spots?

Yesterday I went to Ontario Mills at 7pm, btw they close at 8pm so my girl can grab some stuff she needed. Anyways I come out of the mall at 7:45 to see a ticket on my window for using more than one stall and hanging out(my truck is long). So I track down the security gaurd to discuss my ticket and tell him that I own a big truck and was thoughtfull enough to park it in the back of the lot when I took up these two spaces. I also mentioned that there are no signs posted saying that I can't do that.

So he tells me in the most smart ass way thay there doenst need to be signs posted and its just common sense not to take up two spots. Then he told me that if my truck wont fit in one spot then I have no business shopping there. That pissed me off.. so after a few more words he offered to take the ticket back and not charge me the fines.

This ticket seems so rare, has this happened to anyone else?

Wow, what happens if you have an RV or a trailer? They should know that if you can afford a big truck or trailer toys that you are probably going to spend some money at their establishment. Sounds like you could have fought that one.

I did fight it and he agreed to cancel the ticket, so I'll see if he keeps his word.
And btw, we spent $200 in that 45 minuts.

I wonder what you were cited for? The CA vehicle code doesnt apply much in private parking lots, so it must be a city ordinance or ??? I cant imagine it being a REAL ticket - probably a civil issue.

You should go return the items that you bought and tell the store manager that you need to get your money back to pay for the ticket and tell them that the rent a cop says that your truck didn't fit so you shouldn't be shopping there. I would bet they would not be real happy and the rent a cops boss would hear about it.

I'm sure the managers of the stores inside would love to hear that comment.

I ALWAYS take two spots if there is plenty of space, tired of door dings.. I've received some infractions, and have told many quarter cops to go fock themselves..........

Great ideas. I looked online but cant find a number to call and inform a manager or someone in charge of the mall.

Better than parking in the 7-11 handicap spot.

Seriously, I think that's a pretty chicken shit ticket especially when you make a conscious effort to park well away from everyone else.

I used to run a big retail store. Look on your sales receipt and call the store and tell them you want to talk to a regional manager. Then tell him what happened and that by advice from the rent a cop you will no longer be shopping at his store. Believe me when i tell you that he will do the rest for you.

    Hope this helps:

Of if you really want to go BIG, contact the Mills Company, I'm sure they would be thrilled to hear about your experience and decision to take your shopping dollar in our suppressed economy to another shopping center that can accommodate vehicles large enough to hold all your purchases.

So let me get this straight, You took up two parking spots, which is wrong and you are getting mad a guy for doing his job....

And I have never seen a sign telling me not to kill people, but I know its wrong
