    Default Just to clarify

I'm not sure where all the contacts are coming from but no, I can't get anyone any discounts.
LaidBackBoaters.com, Laid Back Enterprises (it's owners and officers) or myself is not affiliated with Laidbackboaters.net or Jet Boat Performance.

Apparently the laidbackboaters.net was directly linked to JBP up until sometime last night.
I apologize for the confusion it may have caused.

    Default laidbackboaters

    Regarding Laid Back Boaters
    Steve,
As you may recall, we posses well over 50 domains. Most all are jet and V-drive, marine related. As you also may realize they regularly come due for renewal and require attention for multiple matters as well. Our internet "picture" is very complex and the activation of that link during a bulk renewal and change process by our techy was an inadvertent act. It has been disabled and is now "parked" without any linking.
We do feel that this could have been corrected or rectified by simply calling us or an email. We sincerely apologize for the confusion or any inconvenience this may have caused.
    Best regards,
    Tom, Rhonda and Josh

We went through this whole thing last year Tom via the telephone. The point is, you purchased the domain name when I happened to let it lapse. It's obvious what your intent is/was.
In any case, I made that clarification so as to try and disassociate Laid Back Boaters and Laid Back Enterprises (whom I got permission from to use the Laid Back name 7 yrs ago) from you and your company.

ya know what Billie, I can't agree with you more! First off, I have never said anything about buying parts from JBP, I still send people there if I think they have the best price on the item. I do have an issue with what Tom is apparently attempting to do.
2 years ago he bought up laidbackboaters.net and had it directly linked to the JBP website. I called, we talked about it, he apologized and the link was removed. A couple of weeks ago, he renewed his ownership of that domain name and the link to JBP was put back. All I did was apologize for any confusion that it caused (read my first post). It could have easily died with that but it didn't.
Over the past 2 weeks or so, myself along with others, have been working on something that many people thought to be a pretty cool idea. The suggestion was made to set-up a website and message board for what they wanted done so I was inthe process of reviving an old message board I had sitting there. In doing so, I renamed it Hot Rod Boats. I first noticed the jetboatperformance screen name visiting the board this past Sunday. Come Tuesday, I get a phone call telling me that Tom purchased the Hot Rod Boat domain name. Mind you, that name wasn't going to be used but it just shows that this is not a figment of my imagination.

Maybe Tom needs to explain why he purchased the laidbackboaters.net in the first place, then directly linking it to his website. Not once, but twice and apologizing twice. Then after all that, he tries to do it again with a different domain name?

If you want, you can read this thread on the Banderlog board started last week - http://www.banderlog.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5469

To everyone here ,I completly agree with the comments made here regarding Cas' childish rediculous and relentless "dogging" and harrassing of us and our business on these Boat forums. When folks here say "let it go guys" please note everyone that its Steve Castelli that continually puts up these crap posts, not us, and we only respond to defend, or when appropriatel apologize! I don't feel I have any responsibility to explian why I did anything regarding domain purchases
My family and I are very weary of being publicly "called out" here and ALL the other boards he can find to "blitz"so that he Steve can display how much he hates us. I'm personally sick of it as well, and these boards are no place for it! The boards are here to discuss boats, technical issues and share boating interest, not for character assination, slander and liabel.
Yes I now own close to 100 domains. I buy them like any other commodity or investment that I see value in and I will continue to do so. Right now I'm "sawzalling" the bottom out of one of your old personal Tahiti boats, I suppose you wouldn't like that either. Truthfully it's really none of you business.
Steve let it go! You saw what happened here. Folks are tired of your crap. Get a life, go find some other cause to devote your time and efforts to try to be successful at, something other than to trying to tear us down. If you don't think its obvious to people when you blitz every forum board with your complaint you must think folks are ignorant. It has now gotten to the point where I've had a neck full. Just as in the case of the Hot Boat boards incident, once more I appologize to all concerned here for having to put up with this crap! Tom [email protected] JBP

You have to realize that some people would sell their fist born for a $buck.
your lucky he just linked it to his site, we had someone purchase one of our old domains
and link it to a porn site, then contacted us and tried to sell it back to us for a lot of $$

that being said buying and selling domains is perfectly legal and he has every right
to do what he feels like with his domains and can be a profitable business.

I don't know either of you and not taking sides.

maybe we can get a moderator to trash this thread....

I've stayed out of this, but am compelled to throw my .02 out there. Not taking sides, and you both know I've dabbled in domains. Here's my take (without making any judgements).
When you let a domain go, obviously it's up for grabs. What the new owner does with it and why they do it is of concern. I've let all of my boating domains go, but I'm sure someone will pick them up at some point and use them as redirects. If someone buys it because they know people will associate the new sight with me or my old company, I expect them to do the right thing and have an entry page that explains the redirect is NOT affiliated with the old company. Just because I've let a domain lapse, doesn't mean people stop associating the name with me.
The entry page would display this message for a few seconds then go to the intended page. This is VERY simple html, and I can't think of a reason it wouldn't be done. It actually has an advantage in that when the stats are viewed, they will show that the entry page redirected the view, not just the server address. This helps make an informed business decision on whether a domain should be kept current, or let it lapse.
If I just used the domain as a redirect, I really can't expect the new owner to do more. Have I sniped domains? Yep... I did one, and just recently let it lapse. I had no reason (other than a redirect) to own TX19.com, but realized there were others that could use it more effectively. I really gotta say, the years I owned hondoboats.com, southwindboats.com, etc, the business effect from them was negligable. That is a business decision each owner must make, but from my experience, the capital expended doesn't equate to enough additional revenue to continue.
I'm sure both parties can come to a mutually agreeable solution and hopefully I've supplied one.
    Just my .02 guys.
