    Default Jetoholic

I removed this post from a thread as I didnt want to clutter it up with my rant...........
Look, You may of installed a T stat system and ran it for 3 seasons and have great success, But I highly doubt you have done any testing so to speak off any, other than running it. All I can say is thats great for you and your needs but please refrain from preaching to the chior.
You machinist told you this, or I heard it from duane, dave @ aggressor, mike from Rex,Or any other real "expert". Please let the experts give their opinions on topics and findings that have been backed up with years of expeirence and knowlage and real testing data to back up their reasonings and findings. It's great to throw in your 2 cents every now and then, but for you to throw advise around as your the know it all is just wrong. You constantly go back and edit your posts to back track on boguss advise you spilled out so you don't look like an idiot and don't get hammered on, or delete it entirly becuase you were called out and you were proved to have the wrong advise or theory. We all have our opinions on what works for us and why we do things a certian way, but you are taking this way overboard.

It seems as if you have it all figured out and thats great, but geez guy, relax on the throwing out of brain picked knowlage that you have aquired from countless phone calls to these professionals and endless hours of reading your "how to books"! It gets old.

I agree with alot of what you say from time to time, but these how to posts from the newbs that you go on and on about a topic as "this is law" or "
this how it needs to be done" is old. Again, Its' great that your applying your knowlage and trying to help people, but there are many more people on these forums that have many years in the "buisiness" that won't post up anymore or don't want to give there opions because of guys like you. I get countless PM's regaurding you and how I attack you, but I was warned not to do it anymore or I would get banned.

It's my "opinion" that you my freind should sack up and let the pros speak for themselves. I am not a know it all or nor do I claim i am. I have been involved with this sport from the time I was born and live the boaters life as you do.

I have helped countless people on these forums, be it fiberglass repair, engine tuning, sold parts,or just plain old moral support and have met a ton of good people that i am proud to call my freinds. But you are making more enemies than you know.
So in closing, I guess what the short and sweet question I pose to you is......

    CAN YOU PLEASE CHILL????

    Im off my soapbox

X2....getting kinda tired of reading what you were told or heard from someone about everything. I want to hear from them...not you. Unless you came up with a better way to skin the cat...then, lets hear it.

I've built over 300 engines, come from an engineering background, and have a pretty good knack of figuring things out....to a level which I'd like to think is above and beyond the norm. I mention this, while sitting quietly on the sidelines and reading the mix of good information mixed with bullshit becuase there are those who have more experience than me, and therefor can supply better information than me. Just becuase you heard something from someone, or someone's friend's dad's brother's buddy did that thing that you heard about that worked....doesn't make it so. Don't contribute to the "I read it on the interweb so it must be true" problem.....it's becoming kind of tiresome reading about what people heard or what people were told.

I think I'm ahead of the curve...I've got a shitbox that floats with a shitbox mill in it that did 86.2mph/gps upriver on the 3rd weekend out w/ a stock pump...Does that make me an authority on the subject? Not Quite, that's why I STFU and keep reading. Reading makes you smarter, spouting off bullshit makes you look less than smart.

Not trying to make you feel like shit here, just trying to help (really)...take what you're told, test the theories, figure out what works...and spout that knowledge. Then you'll be respected...just slow it down a bit.
    -just sayin

That approach has been tried. And so has talking to him about it on the phone.

I think Futs and lbhsbz said enough so I wont add to it except to say. Jetoholic, most of the people you get/swipe your knowledge from are members here and will post the proper answers to a question if you would just STFU and stay out of there way. If you want to be the resident expert go start a sat TV thread somewhere.

When I die I want to go nice and peaceful in my sleep like Grandpa did, not screaming like the other passengers in His car.

I would tend to agree however unless you can get Tom Mike Duane Pops and who ever else to sit their ass in this forum to answer my questions 24/7 then its very helpfull to have someone tell you they had asked the exact same question and learned such information. Or i had a very similar issue and this is how i fixed it or this is what i learned during my experience. I have infact done so my self on numerous occastions; however i tend to preface all my advice with info on my limited experience or how it worked for me..

Not saying Jetaholic has not been showing his ass but for god sakes some of you need to relax a bit.. Its just the internet..

EDIT: BTW i stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night so i am totaly qualified...

I've been boating for a while, and have been on the boards for a minute or two.

If people would do a search for the question they are looking for the answer for (instead of starting a thread right away), they might find their answer. Too many times, I see another thread about a subject that has been beaten to death by so many.

    Default no harm, no foul

How can you make enemies offering information? I have not seen the situation Futs is talking about, but what I do see on any board of this type is a group of enthusiasts reacting to a member's situation by throwing out ideas to help solve the problem. Isn't that part of the reason we hang out here?

Even if the information is second or third hand, it gets ya thinking outside your problem...

God, I hate to think what people think of my little pearls of wisdom...

if some of you guys do a little research, you will find instructions on how to use the ignore feature. It really comes in handy when there is someone on the boards that you'd rather not read their posts. It also blocks PMs from that person......pretty cool deal.

I know Shaun saved the HB site archives ... maybe he can start a thread called "HB Archives" and admin can make it a forum section for reference down in Grey Water Storage? There was so much history & information over on that site ... would be nice to access it from time to time.

Or Shaun ... can you PM me the link to where you hosted it so I can keep it on my favorites?
I'm not Shaun, but you have a PM....
