    Default limitations of this hull??

    My boat is a1979 hornet sprint wich has a delta pad bottom ..Now I really like the look of my boat and ride but I would definetly like some more speed something in the 80s would be nice ... would it benefit me to set pump back add shoe and rideplate what shoe would you recomend? ..oh motor is a 454 flat top pistons L88 heads victor jr intake 850 dp holley 274/ 286 comp cam not clue as to hp its putting but it turns an A imp at 5000 havent gps'd it so dont have mph oh it has a berkley jc with diverter

    yes, in my opinion it would improve with a setback and the other mods you mentioned. Delta pads can be modified to load the pump better. Look around for any stuff regarding delta pad changes on eliminator sprints. There has been some info on this in the jet section and on this section. mid 80's may take 575-600 if you have a heavier hull. The nice part about the setback is the access to the hand hole cover. Being outside the transom you can clean out weeds,etc on the water. If you go to the extent of setting back the pump, no reason not to address the delta pad mods. Greg is the man, I am just giving my opinion based on what I have learned from reading the stuff posted here and watching a setback on a delta pad hull work good, not great, but better than stock location. Loading the pump at 80 plus was the issue.

    Thanks Del51 ....I will search on the mods under eliminator sprints I' ve searched under hornet and cant find any info on this hull and I dont want to.start cutting and spending money on it if its not gonna work or give me a bunch of grief ..cause I really like my boat I just want a little more
