    Default steering problems at 35

Greg, Got a steering problem on a 2001 Commander 2100 lx jet. Previous owner told me it was rigged buy your Co. looks like a Dominator without the casting on the side.
Anyway ,The previous owner had the bolt on rudder removed for some reason. so I reinstalled it.
Excited about our new purchase, We went to the river after thanksgiving to try it out.
The boat came up on plane very fast,Then at about 35 it became neerley out of control to steer. Like driving on on icy road. oversteering back and forth. had to let off to maintain control.
Is this a result of sloppy steering linkage or the rudder ? on my previous boat i installed a Heim joint in place of that clamp and bolt attachment at the pump .Should I do the same here ?
One note this boat is in perfect condition with only 133 hours.
Has anyone out there experienced this?

To the best of my knowledge we have never rigged a Commander complete. It sounds like the boat is bow steering. Was there a lot of people in the front of the boat. Were the tanks full. Does the steering cable have a lot of play in it. Did you try taking the rudder back off to see if that would help. Usually if the steering cable has a lot of play and the boat is riding bow heavy this will cause the boat to dart left to right and the more you as the operator tries to correct it the worse it gets. Feel free to call me at the shop and lets see if we can get this problem solved. Greg 951 272 6060
