    Default 88 Carrera Eclipse

    Hey Greg

I bought this Carrera eclipse from riverdad about 3 years ago as a bare hull in pretty rough shape.
it was set up for a Chevy but I'm a ford guy so a bbf it got. Berk jc ab impeller, split bowl, hph nozzle and new Diverter. I think you had a hand in these back in the day with dennis. What are your thoughts on what it is capable of running? I was at tpm this weekend and I realize I need some more power. (400 ish hp now)
You recommend a ride plate? Shoe? Maybe have you do a set back?

Thanks in advance advice chrisadvice chris

Chris, Good looking boat, Always like that boat because of the long deck. The Eclipse is a good boat and has a good history. It's bottom was from the Hornet which proved to be a fast bottom in it's day. Another boat that has a similar bottom is the Liberey which has a very fast history in both the drags and espically in circle racing. Generally speaking the bottom is good and straight. Rideplate and shoe is certianlly in your future , along with a subtle set back. I have built a number of these with different kinds of power and all have performed quite well. Speeds of over 100 mph are certianally acheivable.

    Greg,
    Thanks for the info!
I really appreciated it, GS has done several pumps for me in the past. Maybe I will swing by some time to discuss moving forward with a rideplate.

    Thanks
