    Default newbie questions

I just bought a 1983 eliminator daytona with a berkely pump model 12JC-AHMS87. The manufactures' plate shows an A impeller. It also shows L.M. 6470. I don't know what that means. I own an engine machine shop in Canada so building power will not be a problem. I want to be able to go over 100 mph. I want to keep the engine rpms under 6500 ( AA impeller???) Can anybody recommend a source for manuals for this pump? Can someone recommend a reputable rebuilder for berkely's in the northern US or even Canada. Thanks.

Spool, It is unusual for a Daytona to have a 12 jc pump. Is the pump set back? In order to run 100 mph you have a number of things that have to be addressed. Set back pump , good pump with a ss impeller, Droop snoot, rideplate and shoe assembly, good intake hardware, I would reccomend a Place Diverter. This Daytona should have a small radiused keel as long as it came out of the right mold. There were 2 molds at that time one with a flat keel and one with a radiused keel. If you have pictures that would be helpful. If your goal is 100 mph an engine making 700 to 800 hp is in your future. All the motor in the world is not going to help you unless the boat is set up properly. Any questions feel free to call me at the shop. 951 272 6060
