Default 21' ultra shadow deck pump question

Hello, I just bought a 21' ultra shadow deck that originally had a 502 BBC, Dominator pump with stainless inducer and stainless A impeller. Previous owner replaced 502 with a 572 BBC. Question is do I need to change the impeller or will the A work. Dino sheet on 572 show's 743 HP @ 6000 rpm. Thanks

Have you run the boat yet with the existing setup?

Yes I did run it and it would run great after you got it on plane but seemed like you had to ease it out of the whole or it would suck air. It does have a loader scoop, but not sure if its the xtreme or the Super Sport.

Once you got the boat on plane were you able to run it at WOT? If so what rpm did it pull? Does the pump have an inducer?

Yes after plane I could run WOT with no problem, it does have a stainless inducer, and could only turn 5200 RPM.

Still having trouble getting out of the whole, slipping , after I plane it runs great. Its a Dominator 12S with a stainless A impeller and stainless inducer. I was told the inducer could possibly be the problem. WOT, 5200 rpm, gps @ 70 mph.

Are you sure your tach is right? You should be pulling more rpm's on an A impeller and going alot faster. The inducer is not causing you to cavatate I'm more suspect of the loader. Most of the loaders that are available today are designed to load the pump after the boat gets on plane. When you come out of the hole and you experience bow rise the loader thus becomes a blocker of water until the boat rolls over. Because of the weight of the boat I will usually install a ski grate instead of full loader. The ski grate will allow more water going to the pump when coming out of the hole. We built a 21 Deck with a crate 572 that we went thru before installing and the boat will run right at 80 mph.

Thanks, Greg I will change the loader out and see if that helps. Thanks
