I'm having problems with running out of fuel pressure at or close to top end. 454 bored 60 over Gale banks twin turbo 1050 0r 1150 Holley. I've tried mr gasket micro pump it would turn 4000 rpm and die. A friend gave me an electric pump he had on a big horsepower motor this time I hooked a gauge which read 7 lbs at idle but crapped out 0 lbs when held wide open. I've only had the boat out half a dozen times, would like to cure this once and for all by orderring the correct one. What do you suggest, in the way of gph flow.
You have some sort of delivery problem. Venting is a good place to start. Check all of your fittings to make sure the flow freely and have an inside dia. of no less than 3/8 of an inch or more. What kind of fuel filter do you run. Are you running pump gas? Does anyone of the pump get hot to the touch. Without the lubrication in the fuel the pump will get hot and stop putting. A simple solution is to add 4 oz of Marvel Mystery oil to 10 gallons of fuel this will give you enough lubrication and the pump will not get hot. Does the fuel pressure come back if you let the boat set for awhile?
