Default 21 FT Sleekcraft stringer help

Hi, hopefully i am posting this in the right section,
I have a 1989 sleekcraft diplomat dt open bow (like a bigger version of a sleek SST) Mod-v tunnel hull. 502 bbc with berkeley pump... I was hoping with your past experience with similar type boats you may be able to steer me in the right direction. currently i have one rotted stringer down the center of the boat. from the motor forward, it was made of plywood (2 pieces of 5/8 stapled together) its rotting out and needs replacement. there are no other stringers on the boat and the motor is mounted to the floor (top or either tunnel) with mercruiser mounts. I have seen few boats like this and most have stringers on top of the tunnel. would i be wasting my time adding 2 stringers on the insides of the two tunnels with epoxy and glass ? or were stringers in a larger tunnel mod v hull necessary? I couldn't imagine the plywood was adding much strength to anything other than the floor. The boat is going to spend most of its time in smooth blythe or parker, currently runs 65-67mph , with possibility of adding some more hp, overall goal of 70-75 mph.

In your experience what route should i go as far as stringer replacement. I an not thrilled with the idea of running stringers on top of the tunnel. would two down the inside of the tunnel be sufficient, or do you think i could get away with just replacing the single one in the center from the front of the motor to the nose of the boat. Any advice is appreciated.
